Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is uncertain and the US has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported debris landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
