The organization's leader, a previous Amazon UK leader, confirmed that multiple research initiatives at the center employing hundreds have been terminated, spun out or completed because they do not align with the new direction.
Internal Challenges
The institute has faced organizational challenges since last year as staff protested against changes, culminating in a collection of workers filing a whistleblower complaint to the proper supervisory commission.
The institute's leadership stated that these whistleblower claims were externally examined by a neutral third party that found them to have no substance.
